Dear Parents (in Canberra)
Taichi & Mandarin Solutions (太极中文研习社) is a local Canberra organisation providing integrated training in Chinese language and traditional Wushu (the Chinese martial arts known collectively in the West as ‘kungfu’).
We have highly experienced Mandarin native speaking teachers who will help you and your children explore the richness of Chinese language and culture. All classes are held on the campus of the Australian National University.
Following each Mandarin class, parents and their children will learn Chinese traditional martial arts with our highly qualified teacher. Wushu can be exercised gently or vigorously and has health benefits for young and old, teaches discipline to students and leads to more confidence and psychological wellbeing.
What is less well known in the West is that traditional martial arts and the Chinese language both reflect aspects of Chinese culture as a whole and studying one reinforces the other. If there is one way of fostering student’s Mandarin learning, it is to have them adopt a hobby where they can exercise their Mandarin language skills and their bodies at the same time.
If you are interesting making this learning opportunity available to your children， our policy requires one parent/guardian (free of charge) must be accompanying their children through their course. We promise both the content and the format of these classes are highly engaging for even adults who are native speakers and/or have martial arts experience.
Courses are taught after school between the hours of 4:00pm – 5:30pm.
Address: ANU 95 Daley Road, Acton ACT 2601
We would also be happy to work with you to design any alternative study programs that you feel might be particularly suitable for you and your children.
